Participants are exposed to various series of stimuli in which they must solve a short math problem and remember a list of words. This demonstration is based on the operation span task described in Conway and Engle (1996). This demonstration provides an example of a traditional digit span test. This demonstration includes a series of memory span tasks designed to demonstrate that working memory capacity can be affected by a variety of task variables, including chunking and the organization of the list.
